Financial advisor Colleen Narens has always had a passion for teaching others and learning about finance. When you’re a teacher and you only get paid once a month, you become an expert in budgeting.
She earned an Associates in psychology, a Bachelors in English with a minor in education, and a master’s from Texas A&M University. She began her career in education and taught for nearly a decade before being recruited by Edward Jones and assuming responsibility for an established office in her hometown of Texarkana.
During her time at the firm, she was recognized for the rapid growth of her business and for deeply serving her clients. She was awarded the Spirit of Partnership Award and the Ted Jones Prospecting Award for outstanding performance her first year in office. She was a member of the Women’s Inclusion Group, team captain for the Relay for Life, and invited to attend the prestigious Diversity & Inclusion conference in Omaha, Nebraska. Colleen left the firm in February of 2021 to care for her family.
She is excited to join Ignite Financial Group and continue to do what she does best: teach her clients about finance, build individualized financial plans, a use an established process for clients to achieve their goals towards financial freedom.
When she’s not helping her clients, you can find Colleen teaching yoga at her favorite studio, Thrive Yoga or at the Southwest community center where she volunteers to teach yoga each week. On the weekends, she is at home either working on her 140-year-old home with her husband or working on her vintage 1974 Bronco. Colleen is the mother of 2 beautiful girls: Evie, 20 and Mia, 18.
